Section 17

Original content

English translation

A man with a large nose was courting a woman, and in praising himself he said: I am a man far removed from frivolity and levity, and patient in enduring hardships. The woman said: If you were not patient in enduring hardships, you could not have carried this nose for forty years! From your great nose there is a burden upon everyone How long will you idly turn your face toward this one and that Every moment your prostration is not for the sake of devotion You merely lay the heavy load of your own nose upon the ground
