English translation

A schoolteacher's son fell ill and drew near to death. He said: Bring the corpse-washer to wash him. They said: He has not died yet. He said: There is no harm; by the time you finish washing him, he will surely be dead!

Whoever, in his own affairs, before the proper time makes haste by the dictate of his nature, is like one who breaks his fast before night has come, or pulls off his boot before reaching the water.
