روضهٔ هفتم بهارستان (در ذکر شاعران) / The Seventh Garden of Baharestan (On the Poets)

The Seventh Garden of Jami's Baharestan

The روضهٔ هفتم (Seventh Garden) is one of the eight rowzeh (gardens) that structure Jami's Baharestan. This particular garden is devoted to the poets: it gathers brief biographical notices of Persian poets, each introduced with a short prose account of their standing and followed by representative verses.

Figures treated in this garden include Rudaki, Abd al-Wasi Jabali, Adib Saber Termezi, Rashid Vatvat, and Saadi. As a group it functions as Jami's compact tazkira-style survey of poets, sitting between the whole Baharestan collection and its individual poet sections (each بخش). Understanding this garden's purpose — a curated anthology of poets and exemplary lines — provides the immediate context for reading any single poet-section within it.
