Vertical Line

A vertical line is the graph of a linear equation that contains only the variable xx, written in the form x=ax = a. In this equation, the xx-value is the constant aa and is completely independent of yy. Because the xx-coordinate never changes regardless of the yy-coordinate, plotting its points produces a straight line that runs straight up and down, crossing the xx-axis exactly at the point (a, 0). To graph it using a table of values, the constant aa is entered for every xx-coordinate, while any arbitrary values can be selected for the yy-coordinates.
