English translation

Then 'Azazil said to him, "O generous prince, my own trick must now be set forth. If your prayer had been missed at that time, you would have cried out and lamented from heart-pain. That regret, that lament, and that need would have surpassed two hundred remembrances and prayers. I woke you with alarm so that such a sigh would not burn away the veil, so that no such sigh would be yours, so that no such road would be yours. I am envious; from envy I did this. I am an enemy; my work is trickery and spite." He said, "Now you have spoken truly; you are truthful. This is what comes from you; this is what befits you. You are a spider, and flies are your prey. I am not a fly, dog; do not bring me this nuisance. I am a white falcon; the king makes me his quarry. When could a spider spin around us? Go catch flies while you can, hey; summon the flies toward buttermilk. And if you call them toward honey, that too will certainly be falsehood and buttermilk. You woke me: that was sleep. You showed me a ship: that was a whirlpool. You were calling me toward good only so that you might drive me away from a better good."
