Increasing Reading Comprehension and Engagement Through Concept-Oriented Reading Instruction- Study 1: Method/Procedure
Researchers constructed Concept-Oriented Reading Instruction (CORI) to provide a classroom setting where multiple reading comprehension strategies are used. Researchers combined these strategies with the motivational practices of:

- C) Affording students choice
- D) Using interesting text
- E) Promoting collaboration in reading instruction
There were 8 CORI classrooms and 11 SI classrooms, both randomly assigned, and the study implemented an equivalent group pretest-posttest design. The program was administered for 12 weeks, and the model was taught for 90 minutes daily.
