Schedule of Values in Progress Billing

The Schedule of Values (SOV) is a structured breakdown of the contract price into billable parts, such as trades, phases, or divisions. Each progress payment invoice follows that list so every billed dollar can be tied to a specific part of the job. The usual line-item columns show what was billed earlier, what is billed this period, any materials stored on site, the retainage held back, and the amount still available to bill. A clear SOV creates a transparent audit trail and helps prevent payment disputes.
