Limitations: Fostering self-regulation through mindful yoga for middle schoolers

  • Due to the moderate size of control and treatment groups, they have limited statistical power -This could mean the results of the study actually underestimate the effects of mindful yoga on self-regulation
  • Context could also have played a role in the results; a possible confounding variable was self-reflective writing processes and preparing for standaradized testing
  • Additionally, all of the treatment groups were taught mindfulness by the same teacher, whereas the control groups were taught by other teachers. This could have contributed to the difference in self-regulation scores
  • Self-regulation was only measured through self-report
