Book One - Section 21 - Explanation of the Twelve Tribes of Christians

Original content

English translation

The people of Jesus were in contention and turmoil; their rulers were ten amirs and two amirs. Each faction followed one amir, having become servants of its own leader through greed. These ten and these two amirs, and their people, had become bound to that evil-marked vizier. Everyone’s trust was in his speech; everyone took his conduct as their model. Before him, at any time and hour, each amir would have given his life if he had told him, “Die.”
