Poem

دفتر اول - بخش ۱۳۱ - در بیان آنک چنانک گدا عاشق کرمست و عاشق کریم، کرمِ کریم هم عاشق گداست اگر گدا را صبر بیش بود کریم بر در او آید و اگر کریم را صبر بیش بود گدا بر در او آید اما صبر گدا کمال گداست و صبر کریم نقصان اوست / Book One - Section 131 - In explanation that just as the beggar is a lover of generosity and a lover of the generous one, the generosity of the generous one is also a lover of the beggar; if the beggar's patience is greater, the generous one will come to his door, and if the generous one's patience is greater, the beggar will come to his door. However, the patience of the beggar is the perfection of the beggar, and the patience of the generous one is his deficiency

Original content

English translation

A voice was crying out, 'O seeker, come! Generosity is in need of beggars, just as the beggar is.' Generosity seeks the beggars and the weak, Just as beautiful ones seek a clear mirror. The face of the beautiful becomes lovely from the mirror; The face of beneficence becomes visible from the beggar. Therefore, God commanded in the chapter of Ad-Duha: 'O Muhammad, do not scold the beggar.' Since the beggar is the mirror of generosity, beware! A breath on the face of the mirror is an injury. That one's generosity brings the beggar into existence, And that other one bestows increase upon the beggars. Therefore, beggars are the sign of God's generosity, And those who are with God are absolute generosity. And whoever is other than these two is himself a dead man; He is not at this door, he is but a painted figure on a curtain.
