از خدا جوییم توفیق ادب
بی ادب محروم گشت از لطف رب

بی ادب تنها نه خود را داشت بد
بلکه آتش در همه آفاق زد

مایده از آسمان در می رسید
بی شری و بیع و بی گفت و شنید

در میان قوم موسی چند کس
بی ادب گفتند « کو سیر و عدس ؟»

منقطع شد خوان و نان از آسمان
ماند رنج زرع و بیل و داس مان

باز عیسی چون شفاعت کرد حق
خوان فرستاد و غنیمت بر طبق

مائده از آسمان شد عائده
چون که گفت انزل علینا مائده

باز گستاخان ادب بگذاشتند
چون گدایان زله ها برداشتند

لابه کرده عیسی ایشان را که این
دایمست و کم نگردد از زمین

بدگمانی کردن و حرص آوری
کفر باشد پیش خوان مهتری

زان گدارویان نادیده ز آز
آن در رحمت بریشان شد فراز

ابر بر ناید پی منع زکات
وز زنا افتد وبا اندر جهات

هر چه بر تو آید از ظلمات و غم
آن ز بی باکی و گستاخیست هم

هر که بی باکی کند در راه دوست
ره زن مردان شد و نامرد اوست

از ادب پرنور گشته ست این فلک
وز ادب معصوم و پاک آمد ملک

بد ز گستاخی کسوف آفتاب
شد عزازیلی ز جرات رد باب

English translation

We seek from God the grace of proper conduct; The discourteous one is deprived of the Lord's grace. The discourteous one does not only harm himself; Rather, he sets fire to all horizons. A heavenly feast used to descend from the sky, Without buying and selling, and without dispute. Among the people of Moses, a few individuals Discourteously said: 'Where are the garlic and lentils?' Thereupon, the table and bread from heaven were cut off, And we were left with the toil of farming, spade, and sickle. Then, when Jesus interceded with God, He sent down a table of bounties on a platter. The heavenly banquet became a blessing, When he said: 'Send down upon us a table [from heaven].' Again, the disrespectful ones abandoned courtesy, And like beggars, they snatched the leftovers. Jesus pleaded with them, saying: 'This is Perpetual and will never decrease from the earth; To harbor suspicion and exhibit greed Is ingratitude before the table of a great host.' Because of those blind-eyed beggars, out of greed, That door of mercy was shut against them. The cloud does not rise when charity is withheld, And plague spreads in all directions due to adultery. Whatever darkness and grief come upon you Is also due to insolence and disrespect. Whoever behaves insolently in the path of the Friend, Becomes a highwayman to spiritual men; he is a coward. Through courtesy, this heaven has become full of light; And through courtesy, the angel became innocent and pure. The eclipse of the sun was due to insolence, And Azazil was cast out from the portal due to boldness.
