English translation

Once again we have come to the story; when, indeed, did we ever go outside that story? If we come into ignorance, that is His prison; and if we come into knowledge, that is His palace. If we come into sleep, we are His drunken ones; and if into wakefulness, we are in His hands. If we weep, we are His cloud full of guile; and if we laugh, at that moment we are His lightning flash. If in anger and war, it is the reflection of His severity; and if in peace and apology, it is the reflection of His mercy. What are we in the world's twist upon twist? Like alif, what does it itself possess? Nothing, nothing.
