صاحب دل را ندارد آن زیان
گر خورد او زهر قاتل را عیان

زانک صحت یافت و از پرهیز رست
طالب مسکین میان تب درست

گفت پیغامبر که ای مرد جری
هان مکن با هیچ مطلوبی مری

در تو نمرودیست آتش در مرو
رفت خواهی اول ابراهیم شو

چون نه‌ای سباح و نه دریایی
در میفکن خویش از خودراییی

او ز آتش ورد احمر آورد
از زیانها سود بر سر آورد

کاملی گر خاک گیرد زر شود
ناقص ار زر برد خاکستر شود

چون قبول حق بود آن مرد راست
دست او در کارها دست خداست

دست ناقص دست شیطانست و دیو
زانک اندر دام تکلیفست و ریو

جهل آید پیش او دانش شود
جهل شد علمی که در منکر رود

هرچه گیرد علتی علت شود
کفر گیرد کاملی ملت شود

ای مری کرده پیاده با سوار
سر نخواهی برد اکنون پای دار

English translation

The possessor of the heart suffers no harm from that, even if he plainly drinks deadly poison. For he has attained health and escaped from regimen; the poor seeker is still in the midst of fever. The Prophet said, 'O bold man, beware: do not quarrel with any one who is desired [by God]. There is a Nimrod within you; do not go into the fire. If you wish to go, first become Abraham. Since you are neither a swimmer nor of the sea, do not throw yourself in out of self-will. He brought a red rose from the fire; he brought profit out of losses. If a perfect one takes dust, it becomes gold; if a deficient one takes gold, it becomes ashes. Since that true man has God's acceptance, his hand in affairs is the hand of God. The deficient hand is the hand of Satan and demon, because it is in the snare of imposed duty and deceit. Ignorance comes before him and becomes knowledge; knowledge becomes ignorance when it goes into a denier. Whatever a sick person takes becomes sickness; if a perfect one takes unbelief, it becomes religion. O you who have quarreled on foot with a horseman, you will not carry your head away; now hold your foot back.'
