هم از آن ده یک زنی از کافران
سوی پیغامبر دوان شد ز امتحان
پیش پیغامبر در آمد با خمار
کودکی دو ماه زن را بر کنار
گفت کودک سلم الله علیک
یا رسول الله قد جئنا الیک
مادرش از خشم گفتش هی خموش
کیت افکند این شهادت را بگوش
این کیت آموخت ای طفل صغیر
که زبانت گشت در طفلی جریر
گفت حق آموخت آنگه جبرئیل
در بیان با جبرئیلم من رسیل
گفت کو گفتا که بالای سرت
می نبینی کن به بالا منظرت
ایستاده بر سر تو جبرئیل
مر مرا گشته به صد گونه دلیل
گفت می بینی تو گفتا که بلی
بر سرت تابان چو بدری کاملی
می بیاموزد مرا وصف رسول
زان علوم می رهاند زین سفول
پس رسولش گفت ای طفل رضیع
چیست نامت باز گو و شو مطیع
گفت نامم پیش حق عبدالعزیز
عبد عزی پیش این یک مشت حیز
من ز عزی پاک و بیزار و بری
حق آنک دادت این پیغامبری
کودک دو ماهه همچون ماه بدر
درس بالغ گفته چون اصحاب صدر
پس حنوط آن دم ز جنت در رسید
تا دماغ طفل و مادر بو کشید
هر دو می گفتند کز خوف سقوط
جان سپردن به برین بوی حنوط
آن کسی را کش معرف حق بود
جامد و نامیش صد صدق زند
آنکسی را کش خدا حافظ بود
مرغ و ماهی مر ورا حارس شود
English translation
Also from that village, a woman of the unbelievers Ran toward the Prophet, driven by trial
She came before the Prophet veiled, A two-month-old infant in the woman's arms
The infant said: "Salāmu Allāhi 'alayk, O Messenger of God, qad ji'nā ilayk"
His mother in anger said to him: "Hey, be silent! Who cast this testimony into your ear?
Who taught you this, O tiny child, That your tongue grew so eloquent in infancy?"
He said: "God taught me, then Gabriel — In utterance, I am a messenger with Gabriel"
She said: "Where is he?" He said: "Above your head — Do you not see? Turn your gaze upward"
"Gabriel stands above your head, He has become for me a guide in a hundred ways"
She said: "Do you see him?" He said: "Yes — Shining above your head like a full moon"
"He teaches me the qualities of the Prophet, Through those sciences he delivers me from this lowliness"
Then the Prophet said to him: "O suckling infant, What is your name? Speak and be obedient"
He said: "My name before God is 'Abd al-'Azīz — 'Abd-i 'Uzzā before this handful of the debased"
"I am pure, repulsed, and free from al-'Uzzā — By the truth of Him Who gave you this prophethood"
A two-month-old child like the full moon, Has spoken a mature lesson like the masters of the highest rank
Then ḥanūṭ arrived from Paradise in that moment, So that the brain of the child and mother inhaled the fragrance
Both were saying: "From fear of falling, We would surrender our souls to that exalted fragrance of ḥanūṭ"
He whose guide is God — His inanimate and animate ones speak a hundred truths
He whom God guards — Bird and fish become his guardian
