آن نیاز مریمی بوده ست و درد
که چنان طفلی سخن آغاز کرد

جزو او بی او برای او بگفت
جزو جزوت گفت دارد در نهفت

دست و پا شاهد شوندت ای رهی
منکری را چند دست و پا نهی

ور نباشی مستحق شرح و گفت
ناطقهٔ ناطق ترا دید و بخفت

هر چه رویید از پی محتاج رست
تا بیابد طالبی چیزی که جست

حق تعالی گر سماوات آفرید
از برای دفع حاجات آفرید

هر کجا دردی ، دوا آنجا رود
هر کجا فقری ، نوا آنجا رود

هر کجا مشکل جواب آنجا رود
هر کجا کشتی ست ، آب آنجا رود

آب کم جو ، تشنگی آور به دست
تا بجوشد آب از بالا و پست

تا نزاید طفلک نازک گلو
کی روان گردد ز پستان شیر او ؟

رو بدین بالا و پستی ها بدو
تا شوی تشنه و حرارت را گرو

بعد از آن از بانگ زنبور هوا
بانگ آب جو بنوشی ای کیا

حاجت تو کم نباشد از حشیش
آب را گیری سوی او می کشیش

گوش گیری آب را تو می کشی
سوی زرع خشک تا یابد خوشی

زرع جان را که ش جواهر مضمر ست
ابر رحمت پر ز آب کوثر ست

تا «سقاهم ربهم » آید خطاب
تشنه باش ، الله اعلم بالصواب

English translation

It was that need and pain of Mary that made such an infant begin to speak. His part spoke for her without her; each part of your parts has a hidden speech. Your hand and foot will bear witness against you, O servant! How long will you lay hands and feet to denial? And if you are not worthy of explanation and speech, the speaker's faculty of speech sees you and falls asleep. Whatever has grown has grown for the needy, so that a seeker may find what they sought. If God Most High created the heavens, He created them for the satisfaction of needs. Wherever there is a pain, the remedy goes there; wherever there is poverty, provisions go there. Wherever there is a problem, the answer goes there; wherever there is a ship, water goes there. Seek less water, acquire thirst, so that water may gush from above and below. Until the delicate-throated infant is born, how should milk flow from the mother's breast? Go, run along these heights and depths, so that you may become thirsty and hostage to heat. Afterward, from the buzzing of the wasp in the air, you shall drink the sound of the flowing stream, O nobleman! Your need is not less than that of the dry grass, you take the water and draw it toward it. You take the water by the ear and drag it toward the dry crop so that it may find delight. The crop of the soul, in which jewels are hidden— the cloud of mercy is full of the water of Kauthar. So that the address 'Their Lord gave them drink' may arrive, be thirsty! And God knows best what is correct.
