Original content

English translation

Imran's wife herself, who had borne Moses, gathered up her skirts from that tumult and smoke. That deceiver had sent the midwife women into the houses for spying. They signaled against her: "There is a child here. He did not come to the field, for he was in suspicion and doubt. In this alley there is a beautiful woman; she has a child, but she is very cunning." Then the officers came, and she threw the child into the oven by God's command. Revelation came to the woman, informing her that this son is, in origin, from that Friend of God. The protection of "O fire, be cool" came: let the fire not become a fleeing, scorching heat. By revelation the woman cast him into the flames; the fire made no effect on Moses's body. Then the officers went away unsuccessful. Again the informers, who knew of the matter, took up the affair with the officers, before Pharaoh, for a few coins: "O officers, return to that side; look very, very carefully into the chambers."
