Book Three - Section 135 - The Infidels Repeating the Deterministic Arguments

Original content

English translation

The people said: O company, this affliction of ours Is not the kind of affliction that accepts a remedy. For years you spoke these spells and admonitions, Yet the chain grew harder from them every moment. If this disease were receptive to a remedy, At least a particle of it would have vanished by now. When the liver is obstructed, water cannot enter it; Even if one drinks an ocean, it goes elsewhere. Inevitably hands and feet swell, And that drinking of water does not quench the thirst.
