که لئیمان در جفا صافی شوند
چون وفا بینند خود جافی شوند

مسجد طاعاتشان پس دوزخست
پای بند مرغ بیگانه فخست

هست زندان صومعهٔ دزد و لئیم
کاندرو ذاکر شود حق را مقیم

چون عبادت بود مقصود از بشر
شد عبادتگاه گردن کش سقر

آدمی را هست در هر کار دست
لیک ازو مقصود این خدمت بدست

ما خلقت الجن و الانس این بخوان
جز عبادت نیست مقصود از جهان

گرچه مقصود از کتاب آن فن بود
گر توش بالش کنی هم می شود

لیک ازو مقصود این بالش نبود
علم بود و دانش و ارشاد سود

گر تو میخی ساختی شمشیر را
برگزیدی بر ظفر ادبار را

گرچه مقصود از بشر علم و هدیست
لیک هر یک آدمی را معبدیست

معبد مرد کریم اکرمته
معبد مرد لئیم اسقمته

مر لئیمان را بزن تا سر نهند
مر کریمان را بده تا بر دهند

لاجرم حق هر دو مسجد آفرید
دوزخ آنها را و اینها را مزید

ساخت موسی قدس در باب صغیر
تا فرود آرند سر قوم زحیر

زآنک جباران بدند و سرفراز
دوزخ آن باب صغیرست و نیاز

English translation

For the base people become pure in harshness, When they see faithfulness, they themselves become harsh. Therefore, the mosque of their obedience is Hell, The fetter of the strange bird is the trap. Prison is the monastery of the thief and the base person, In which he becomes a constant rememberer of the Truth. Since worship was the purpose of mankind, Hell became the place of worship for the rebellious. Man has a hand in every work, But the purpose of him is this service in hand. Read this: 'I did not create jinn and mankind [except to worship Me]', There is no purpose for the world other than worship. Although the purpose of a book may be that art, If you make a pillow of it, it also serves. But the purpose of it was not this pillow, It was knowledge, learning, and profitable guidance. If you make a peg out of a sword, You have chosen misfortune over victory. Although the purpose of mankind is knowledge and guidance, Yet for every individual person there is a sanctuary. The sanctuary of the noble man is 'You have honored him', The sanctuary of the base man is 'You have afflicted him'. Strike the base people so that they bow their heads, Give to the noble people so that they yield fruit. Therefore, the Truth created both mosques: Hell for those, and increase for these. Moses made a small gate in Jerusalem, So that the wretched people would bow their heads. Because they were arrogant and proud, Hell is that small gate and supplication.
