English translation

Because the capacity for transformation and struggle He possessed from his lowly state, and he let it pass. On the other hand, since the animal has no such capacity, Its excuse in its bestial state is evident. When the capacity, which is the guide, departs from him, Every food he eats is the brain of an ass. If he eats the marking-nut, it becomes opium; His stupor and lack of intellect will increase. There remains another class engaged in struggle: Half animal, half living with right guidance. Day and night in battle and in conflict, His latter part engaged in struggle with his former part.
