English translation

So in form, you are the minor world, So in meaning, you are the major world.

Outwardly, that branch is the origin of the fruit, But inwardly, the branch exists for the sake of the fruit.

If there were no desire and hope for fruit, When would the gardener plant the root of the tree?

So in meaning, that tree was born from the fruit, Though in form, its birth was from the tree.

Muṣṭafā said for this reason: "Adam and the prophets shall follow me under the banner."

For this reason has that master of many arts declared the mystery: naḥnu al-ākhirūn al-sābiqūn — "We are the last, the foremost."

Though in form I was born of Adam, In meaning I have become the ancestor of ancestors.

For it was for my sake that the angels prostrated to him, And for my sake he ascended to the seventh heaven.

So in meaning, the father was born of me, So in meaning, the tree was born from the fruit.

What comes first in thought comes last in action — Especially a thought that is the attribute of eternity.

In sum: in a single moment, from the heavens, A caravan goes and comes here.

For this caravan, the road is not long — When does a vast wilderness come with ease of passage?

The heart journeys to the Ka'ba at every moment; The body by its nature follows the heart through grace.

This length and shortness belongs to the body — What is length and shortness where God is?

When God transforms the body, Its journey becomes without parasangs and without miles.

There are a hundred hopes — now lift your foot, Lovingly, O youth! — Leave off words!

Though you close your eyelid in sleep, Sleeping in the ship, you are making the journey.
