Original content

English translation

From within the Ka'ba a voice reached him, Saying: "O seeker, that noble child Is in such-and-such valley, beneath that tree." Then the blessed elder swiftly set out, The princes of Quraysh at his stirrup, For his grandfather was of the nobles of Quraysh. Back to Adam's loins, all his forebears Were lords of feast, battle, and war. This lineage was but the outer husk of him, Purified and refined beyond the greatest kings. His very marrow is far from lineage and pure— His kind belongs to none, from fish (samak) to Arcturus (simāk). No one seeks the Light of the Truth through birth and being; What need has the robe of God for warp and weft? The least robe He bestows as reward Surpasses the adornment of the sun.
