This chapter of Hujwiri's Kashf al-Mahjub gathers the biographical notices of the recognized Sufi masters (ائمهٔ متصوفه). Each notice opens with the formula 'و منهم' (and among them...) and presents a shaykh's life, companions, spiritual station, and a characteristic saying with Hujwiri's commentary. The Section on Muhammad ibn Wasi' and its sibling sections (on al-Wasiti, al-Maghribi, Ibn Khafif, al-Antaki, al-Hawari, al-Isfahani, and Ahmad ibn Masruq) all belong to this chapter, which sits between the whole Kashf al-Mahjub collection and the individual excerpts.
