اکنون طرفی یاد کنیم از احوال ائمهٔ ایشان از صحابه که پیشرو ایشان بودند اندر معاملات، و قدوهٔ ایشان اندر انفسا و قواد ایشان اندر احوال، از پس انبیا از سابقان اولین از مهاجر و انصار رضوان الله علیهم تا تأکیدی بود مر اثبات مراد تو را، ان شاء الله، عز و جل.

English translation

Now let us relate some account of the states of their imams from among the Companions, who were their forerunners in spiritual dealings, their exemplars in the discipline of the souls, and their guides in spiritual states — after the prophets, from among the foremost of the first ones of the Emigrants (Muhajirun) and the Helpers (Ansar), may Allah's pleasure be upon them — so that it may serve as a confirmation for establishing your purpose, God willing, mighty and exalted is He.
