This is the twelfth biographical chapter (bab) of Hujwiri's Kashf al-Mahjub. It gathers the individual biographies of the Sufi imams who came after the generation of the Followers (Tabi'un), extending down to masters near the author's own time. Figures treated here include Habib al-Ajami, Habib ibn Sulaym al-Ra'i, Shaqiq al-Balkhi, Yusuf ibn Husayn al-Razi, al-Husayn ibn Mansur al-Hallaj, and Sa'id ibn Sallam al-Maghribi. As a structural container it sits between the whole collection and its individual saint-biography excerpts, so that a learner can situate each biography within Hujwiri's ordering of the early Sufi tradition.
