خردنامه اسکندری / Kheradnama-ye Eskandari (The Book of Alexandrian Wisdom)

خردنامه اسکندری (Kheradnama-ye Eskandari, the Book of Alexandrian Wisdom) is the seventh and final masnavi within Jami's Haft Awrang. It is a philosophical narrative poem centered on Alexander the Great (Eskandar), recounting his conquests, his pursuit of wisdom, and the counsel of Greek philosophers. Its closing movement gathers the laments (ندبه) of the sages over Alexander's death, in which each sage draws a moral lesson on mortality, the limits of power, and the vanity of worldly gain. The individual laments — such as the Lament of the Seventh Sage — are sections (بخش) of this specific work, not of the seven-part collection as a whole.
