Kheradnama-ye Eskandari (The Book of the Wisdom of Alexander) — Jami's Seventh Masnavi

Kheradnama-ye Eskandari (the Book of the Wisdom of Alexander) is the seventh and final masnavi of Jami's Haft Awrang. Modeled on Nizami's Iskandarnama, it recounts the life, campaigns, and death of Alexander the Great (Eskandar), interwoven with the philosophical discourses of Greek and Indian sages. The poem is divided into numbered sections (بخش) that narrate episodes such as Alexander's correspondence with his mother, his final testament, his death, the carrying of his coffin, and the successive laments and condolences of the sages. As one of the seven constituent masnavis, it is the structural container that groups these individual sections beneath the wider Haft Awrang collection, so that a section belongs to this poem rather than directly to the whole collection.
