خردنامه اسکندری / Khiradnama-yi Iskandari (The Alexandrian Book of Wisdom)

خردنامه اسکندری / The Alexandrian Book of Wisdom

Khiradnama-yi Iskandari is the seventh and final masnavi of Jami's Haft Awrang. Framed around the figure of Alexander the Great, it gathers a sequence of wisdom-books (khiradnama) placed in the mouths of the Greek sages — among them Plato, Socrates, Pythagoras, Asclepius, and Hermes — each delivering ethical and philosophical counsel on the soul, divine grace, gratitude, and the purification of the self. As one distinct work within the Haft Awrang, it is the immediate container that groups these individual sage-wisdom sections, which are otherwise attached directly to the whole collection.
