خردنامه اسکندری / Khiradnama-yi Iskandari (The Book of Alexandrian Wisdom)

خردنامه اسکندری (The Book of Alexandrian Wisdom) is the seventh and final mathnavi of Jami's Haft Awrang (Seven Thrones). Composed in the tradition of Nizami's Iskandarnama, it frames the campaigns and death of Alexander the Great around the counsel of Greek sages and a chain of interwoven didactic tales and animal parables. Within Haft Awrang it functions as the wisdom-literature book, and its numbered sections — such as the tale of the camel that lay down in the water on the fox's advice — belong beneath this book rather than directly under the whole seven-part collection.
