لیلی و مجنون جامی / Layla and Majnun by Jami (Masnavi within Haft Awrang)

Layla and Majnun is the sixth of the seven narrative poems (masnavis) that together make up Jami's Haft Awrang. Composed in the 15th century, it retells the classic Arab-Persian love story of Qays (called Majnun, the madman) and Layla, following his consuming passion, the opposition of both families, and the mystical reading of earthly love as a mirror of divine love. The poem is divided into numbered sections (بخش), each narrating a stage of the story; these sections are the individual learning units that belong under this single work rather than directly under the whole Haft Awrang collection.
