لیلی و مجنون (جامی) / Leyli o Majnun by Jami

Leyli o Majnun is one of the seven mathnavis (narrative poems) that make up Jami's Haft Awrang (Seven Thrones). It retells the classic love story of Qays (Majnun) and Layla within a Sufi allegorical frame, where earthly passion is treated as a ladder toward divine love.

The poem is organized into numbered sections (بخش) that follow Majnun from his first infatuation, through his growing madness and withdrawal from human society, to his companionship with the wild beasts of the desert and his final spiritual state. Sections such as Majnun wandering in the wilderness and addressing the whirlwind, redeeming a gazelle, and joining the wild beasts are all movements within this single mathnavi.

As the immediate literary work that contains every بخش of the Layla–Majnun story, this node belongs between the whole Haft Awrang collection and its individual sections, mirroring the collection → work → section hierarchy.
