Leyli va Majnun (Jami's Masnavi)

Leyli va Majnun is the sixth of the seven masnavis (long narrative poems) that make up Jami's collection Haft Awrang. Composed in the late 15th century, it retells the classic tale of the ill-fated lovers Leyli and Majnun, drawing on the older Arabic legend and Nizami's celebrated earlier version. The poem is organized into numbered sections (bakhsh) that follow the arc of their love, separation, and death — including the sections on Majnun's death and Leyli's own decline, autumn-tinged fading, and burial. It is the direct textual container for individual sections such as Section 55.
