Section 38 - Advice Saving from Disgrace and Blame, Leading to Safety

Original content

English translation

Listen, O master, to this tale, Behold this wisdom and sagacity. You, after all, are of the human species, And in a position of intimacy with the angels. If you write, write in this manner, Mine the gem of nobility from this mine. Otherwise, cast away the pen, so that from your fist, The wind throws your finger along with it. For what purpose do you have a soft face and a hard heart? For what purpose do you strike your fist against the awl of time? How long will you tremble for status and wealth? How long will you bear sins and burdens? You have heard the stories of oppressors, And you have seen the punishment of their oppressions yourself. Did you take no warning from them, And did you not abandon this conduct? Before the moment you die like a dog, While running swiftly on the path of oppression, Become human and turn back from canine behavior, Become attuned to the attributes of angels. Otherwise, I fear that this transient world Will do to you what it did to others.
