Original content

English translation

The community of Ahmad, among all nations, Is the most excellent and noble of all. The saints who are of his community, Are followers of his law and tradition. They are guides on the path of guidance, Better than any who are not prophets. Especially the family of the Prophet and his Companions, Who are the best of all in every matter. And among them all, none was more worthy Of the caliphate than the Truthful One (Abu Bakr). And after him, among those noble free-born, None was as worthy of that task as the Discerner (Umar). After the Discerner, except through the Possessor of Two Lights (Uthman), The affairs of the nation found no adornment or beauty. After them all, in knowledge and loyalty, Was the Lion of God (Ali), the seal of the caliphs. Except through the noble family and the illustrious Companions, The thread of the Prophet's religion found no order. Do not utter their names except with respect, Do not look upon them except with veneration. Hold a good belief regarding all of them, And set aside all denial of them from your heart. Whatever dispute they had among themselves, Do not speak of it with fanaticism. Do not point the finger of objection at anyone, Do not throw away your faith for nothing. Leave the judgment of that history to God; Practice servitude, for what have you to do with judgment? And that dispute which another companion had With Ali concerning the caliphate, Right in that matter was on the side of Ali, And waging war against him was an error and a sin. Do not approve of that opposition from those opponents, But close your lips to taunting and cursing. If God has cursed someone, Cursing from you and me is not fitting. And if he was distinguished by goodness and grace, Our curse will only return to us.
