Section 133 - Allusion to the Word of the Almighty: 'Whatever is with you will be exhausted, and what is with God remains'

Original content

English translation

Everything that is with you will be exhausted, What is with Him endures unto eternity. Its foundation was not in water and clay [worldly matters], Its place was none other than the soul and heart. Not a single grain of it shall go to waste, On the Day of Resurrection, it shall return to Him. The house of the body is an ancient ruin, Cultivate it for God and in God. The morsels that are the cravings of the heart Are but handfuls of clay for this house [the body]. Since two or three handfuls suffice, How much clay do you carry on your neck and back? I do not tell you wildly, 'Do not apply clay [eat/build],' Apply clay, but only to the extent of sufficiency. Just so much of drink and food is enough That one can stand up in devotion and obedience. And if you exceed that, it is extravagance, And when was extravagance ever a source of honor?
