Section 146 - Allusion to Their Saying: 'At Dawn, the People Praise the Night Journey'

Original content

English translation

The path of the seekers, which is spiritual, At the time of faith, night-traveling is no defect. The darkness of veils has completely taken over, From the right, the left, the back, and the front. Despite the existence of a thousand guides, It is grief-increasing and affliction-inducing. In the morning, when there arises from the earth The ray of disclosure of the dawn of certainty, The darkness of the night departs from the midst, 'And their earth shines with the light of its Lord.' They become appreciative of the night-traveler, And open their lips in gratitude and praise. They abandon the conceit of 'us' and 'me,' And say, 'Praise be to Him Who has removed sorrow.' Whatever is other than the Truth is all grief and sorrow, Whether it is a house or a shop, a child or a wife. From each of these, there shall be a grief upon you, That even a mountain could not bear.
