Section 76 - Conclusion of the Book

Original content

English translation

O Jami, who has folded up the carpet of life, How long will you remain in the fantasy of poetry? Like a pen, how long will you be raw-working, Wrapping yourself in the darkness of poetry like a letter? Your hair became white in the midst of black deeds; Have little hope of being white-faced from this art. For what you have spoken, now is the time to offer excuses, And to make your chant 'I ask God for forgiveness.' Dedicate your breath and your soul to seeking forgiveness, Bring your soul into this breath, and that is enough. When you have washed your mouth with the water of seeking forgiveness, Speak prayers and praises of the King of the world. Praise of the prosperous king, Ya'qub Beg; The bounty of rain came, and I am thirsty sand. How can thirsty sand ever be satiated by water? How can I be brave enough to bid him farewell? Since becoming satiated with this water is impossible for me, It is better to conclude my speech with a prayer. The world became fresh from the grace of his gift, The turn of his justice became highly renowned. May every breath of his bring fresh glory and beauty, May the duration of his kingdom be beyond measure.
