لطف طبعش در سخن مو می شکافت
لفظ نشنیده به معنی می شتافت

پیش ازان کش لفظ در گوش آمدی
معنیش در ربقه هوش آمدی

هر چه نظم از بحر طبعش یک گهر
هر چه نثر از باغ لطفش یک ثمر

چون ثریا پایه نظمش بلند
چون بنات النعش نثرش ارجمند

در لطایف لعل او حاضر جواب
در دقایق فهم او صافی چو آب

خط او چون خط خوبان دل فریب
خوشنویسان زان چو عاشق ناشکیب

چون گرفتی خامه مشکین رقم
آفرین کردی بر او لوح و قلم

جانش از هر حکمتی محفوظ بود
نکته های حکمتش محفوظ بود

در ادای حکمت یونانیان
گفتیش یونانیان نعم البیان

English translation

The grace of his nature split hairs in speech; An unheard word would hasten towards the meaning. Before the word would even reach his ear, Its meaning would fall into the bond of his intellect. Every verse from the ocean of his nature was a pearl; Every prose from the garden of his grace was a fruit. Like the Pleiades, the foundation of his poetry was high; Like the Ursa Major, his prose was precious. In witty subtleties, his ruby lip was quick to answer; In delicate matters, his understanding was as clear as water. His calligraphy was heart-alluring like the beautiful down of the beloved; Calligraphers were restless like lovers because of it. When his musk-scented pen began to write, The Tablet and the Pen praised him. His soul was safeguarded by every wisdom; The subtle points of his wisdom were preserved. In expressing the wisdom of the Greeks, You would say of him, 'What an excellent exposition!'
