بخش ۴۸ - مناجات در شکر شکر به صبر آمیختن و از تلخی این در شیرینی آن گریختن / Section 48 - Supplication in Offering Gratitude: Blending Sugar with Patience and Fleeing from the Bitterness of the Latter into the Sweetness of the Former

Original content

English translation

O You, our hearts are not patient without You, Patience from everything else is pleasant, except from You. Patience without You is the path of those who feel no pain, Patience with You is the path of brave men. Separation from the door of Your proximity is difficult, And patience from Your beauty is difficult. Patience in proximity is even more difficult, Staining the face with the heart's blood is even more difficult. By Your generosity, make our difficulty easy, Place us in the presence of Your benevolence. The pattern of the rose found its outward adornment from You, The secret of the heart found the uncovering of mysteries from You. Wipe away the pattern of the rose from the page of the heart, Reveal the light of the heart from behind the veil of clay. Jami's palate is bitter from patience, His life is bitter from the suffering of distance. Do not permit for his sorrow-destined heart, That its days should pass in bitterness. So that the bird of his tongue may speak of gratitude, Sweeten his palate with the sugar of gratitude.
