ای فروزان ز تو کاشانه چرخ
پر می عشق تو خمخانه چرخ

ما درین خمکده مستان توییم
دست بر فرق ز دستان توییم

یافتیم از تو چو پیمانه شکست
دست ما گیر که رفتیم ز دست

گرچه در قید سیاهیم و سفید
از تو بی قیدیی داریم امید

به که از ما برهانی ما را
دامن از ما بفشانی ما را

دل جامی که به عشقت گرو است
ناقه کوشش او کندرو است

پای دل مانده به گل مپسندش
از دو عالم بگسل پیوندش

رو به ره دار ز آوارگیش
کندپایی ببر از بارگیش

زاد راه از کرم خویش دهش
شادمانی به غم خویش دهش

محمل عشق مقامش گردان
ربقه شوق زمامش گردان

English translation

O You by whom the chamber of the celestial sphere is illuminated! The tavern of the celestial sphere is full of the wine of Your love. In this tavern, we are drunk with You, Putting our hands on our heads because of Your wondrous deeds. When we received the cup from You, as it broke, Take our hands, for we are helpless. Though we are bound by black and white, We hope for freedom from bounds from You. It is better that You deliver us from ourselves, And shake Your skirt of us. Jami's heart, which is pledged to Your love, The she-camel of its effort is slow-paced. Do not approve of the foot of the heart stuck in the mud, Sever its connection from both worlds. Keep its face on the path despite its wandering, Remove the slowness from its steed. Give it provisions for the journey from Your generosity, Give it joy in Your grief. Make the litter of love its station, Make the collar of yearning its rein.
