Section 57 - Supplication on Opening the Palm of Pleading and Placing the Foot of Hope in the Arena of Trust

Original content

English translation

O Your grief is the eternal fortune of all, Your proximity is the ultimate hope of all. By Your grief, the heart of the hopeless is made glad, And by Your face, the paradise of the eternal ones is made pleasant. We are still afflicted with 'me' and 'we' (ego), We are still remaining in fear and hope. Since we are captive in our own selfhood, How can we connect to You without Your grace? Behold our captivity and disgrace, Deliver us from our selfhood. May we find a path and a way toward You, And catch a fragrance from Your rose-garden. Jami has severed himself from soul and world, The thread of his hope is tied to Your grace. Keep him connected by that strong thread, Replace his oldness with newness. When the knot of his hope becomes firm, The knot of doubt will decrease from his heart. Make him aware of the secret of certainty, Grant him passage into the arena of reliance.
