Section 84 - Supplication on Transitioning from Chivalry to Sincerity

Original content

English translation

O You, from Whom comes the chivalry of men, And from Whom comes the movement of the wayfarers! We are wanderers of the world for Your sake, And in faithfulness to You, we are chivalrous. Our wandering of the world is with nothing but our head, Our chivalry is with nothing but our soul. Blessed is he who found exaltation, And found the rank of self-sacrifice in Your path. You are the head of the host of the exalted ones, You are the soul in the body of the self-sacrificing ones. Jami has grown weary from the pain of seeking, He passes by Your door only once in a long while. Draw the arrow of negligence from his quiver, Give him warmth on Your own path. Make him swift-reined like the morning breeze, Make him wander the world in quest of You. With a constricted heart and a darkened inner self, Idle talk has gained mastery over him. Bestow upon him the bounty of light from the realm of sincerity, So that like the dawn, he may breathe the breath of sincerity from You.
