Section 126 - Supplication on Transitioning from Self to the Readers

Original content

English translation

O deliverer of every senseless one, Placer of the seal of silence on every mute lip, Our effort in speech is out of desire for You, Our silence is in yearning for You. If You bestow Your wondrous grace upon a hollow letter, The deep abyss becomes a fountain of speech. And if You unleash the assault of fear upon the horizons, From Qaf to Qaf becomes like the loop of the letter Mim. Your distance is the origin of all constriction, Your proximity is the source of unity and harmony. The heart of Jami, which is constricted because of You, Is a nightingale singing a melody of sorrow because of You. Give his wings the flight to escape this constriction, Give him the fragrance of the flower of unity. Sew his dervish cloak from the thread of annihilation, Deliver him from himself and from his fellow creatures. Conceal his flaws from those devoid of talent, And deliver him from the false assumption of his own skill. So that, liberated from his own flaws and talents, He may live joyfully under the protection of Your grace.
