Section 81 - Supplication on Turning from the Station of Freedom to Chivalry

Original content

English translation

O Your grief, the source of our joy, Servitude at Your door is our freedom. Your chosen servant does not approve Any bond on the heart from serving other than You. Free from both worlds in both worlds, Tied to nothing, neither manifest nor hidden. Having taken place on the surface of the dry earth, Having become a dust-dweller in the lane of annihilation, His mind has not been bound to anything, Nor has his heart found attachment to anything. Having turned his face away from everyone's face, Having turned face-to-face towards You, and that is all. Jami, weary of his own servitude, Has his eye of acceptance on Your mastership. Give him the honor of acceptance at Your door, Grant him permission to enter upon Your path. Scatter upon him a speck of dust from Your path, Place upon his heart a pain from Your grief. Cast his baggage out of the abode of the painless, Into the neighborhood of the chivalrous.
