Section 87 - Supplication

Original content

English translation

O God, I am Your lowliest beggar, My eyes are on the table of Your majesty. I arrive at Your door every day, Crying 'Something for the sake of God!' in begging. The carnal self and Satan, who are the enemies of my faith, Are like sleeping dogs lying in ambush for me. If they look upon me thus wretched and friendless, They will tear my skin like a fur cloak. Grant me sanctuary from the evil of these dogs, Whatever I am, grant me that which is best for me.
