English translation

O Remedier of affairs through Your grace, Applying the balm of ease upon hurts. Light of the eyes of those who see, Concealer of those who dwell behind the veil. Unraveler of every knot and difficulty, Director of the Qiblah for every fortunate soul. Provider of sustenance to pure corner-dwellers, Giver of harvest to the seed-scatterers of the earth. Arm of support for the virtuous, Focus of monotheism for those of single-minded thought. Comber of the locks of the bride of spring, Tier of the necklace around the throat of the branches. By the moisture of grace that the air has poured, Hanging a necklace of pearls from the ear of the rose. In the heart of the initiate, a lamp shines from Your beauty, The chest of the deprived is scarred with grief without You. Obedience to You is the most beautiful occupation, Contemplating You is the core of every thought. The foot of seeking found its path through You, The hand of capability received the strength to work from You. Nay, You are the true worker, The hands of all are but sleeves for Your hand. Until You act, we are unable, If You do not give, what can we receive? In this workshop of strife and activity, There is none other than You from whom any work can proceed. We turn the face of worship only to You, We look for the eye of favor only from You. Place the torch of success in our hands, Give us passage to the inner chamber of realization. When the people of heart arrange a gathering of poetry, They offer the wine of secrets from the goblet of the heart. Send a drop of that wine to Jami, Bring the splendor of his poetry to the level of Nezami. Though he is low as dust, pour for his sake A draught from the banquet of his Khosrow. Where Nezami is the melodist of rhymes, Jami is worthy of following the path of his rhyme. Upon the head of Khosrow, who wears a high crown, A flower from the hand of a dervish is fitting. This breath comes from my low ambition, And this desire is from my humble nature. Otherwise, from where Your generosities lie, How could the thread of my hope ever be weak? A hundred like Nezami and a thousand like Khosrow May well be draft-drinkers from my cup of speech. Grant me loftiness over all in poetry, And bestow upon me a station pleasing to the Divine Law. Raise the foundation of my poetry above all, Especially in the praise of the chief of the Prophets.
