English translation

Mustafa (the Chosen One) said: Whoever spends in charity, Will receive his reward on the Day of Resurrection (Day of Meeting). Except for that futile, unproductive worker, Who exerts effort in building with clay. Whatever he wastes in water and soil, He gains nothing from it except wind in his hand. If you say: 'A person of means May construct many charitable buildings, A monastery, a traveler's lodge, a mosque, and a bridge, A reservoir and pool along paths and passages. Since his intention is free from hypocrisy, He will undoubtedly receive a reward for that action.' I say: 'Yes, but as an answer, I will tell you a subtle point, understand it: The focus of the attention of human aspirations, Is of two kinds among all nations: Either seeking the pleasures of the dwelling of clay and water, Or seeking the pleasures of the gardens of the beautiful return (hereafter). Whoever desires from building with clay The spaciousness of the house and the beauty of the dwelling, Or boasting among his peers, That he built a ruined mosque— Since, despite the sincerity of the worker's aspiration, It did not transcend the world of clay, His expenditures remain tied to water and clay, And he remains cut off from his reward. In fact, even in Pilgrimage (Hajj), Umrah, and Prayers, When expenditures are for immediate worldly gain, All remain mortgaged to water and clay, And the Peerless Creator will not grant a reward. But whoever, from building with clay and water, Intends to acquire proximity to God and spiritual reward— Since his aspiration transcended the clay, His expenditures will follow him. Once his expenditures completed this path, What was 'with you' became 'with God' (referencing Quran 16:96).
