زآل فرعون بود ناسره ای
هرزه گو مسخ روی مسخره ای

بود بر صورت کلیم الله
گاه و بیگاه با عصا و کلاه

پیش فرعونیان ز ناسرگی
مثل موسی شدی به مسخرگی

سر به تقلید وی برآوردی
هر چه دیدی ز وی همان کردی

ماتم غرق را چو زد جبریل
جامه عمر قبطیان در نیل

نشد آن مسخره هلاک ز غرق
ریخت موسی ز درد خاک به فرق

کای نکوکار ازاین تبه کردار
از همه بیش دیده ام آزار

وی بدین مکرمت چه ارزنده ست
که همه مرده اند و وی زنده ست

گفت حق کای گزیده وی یکچند
ساختی با تو خویش را مانند

هر که بر صورت گزیده ماست
به عذاب مخالفان نه سزاست

آن تشبه که از عداوت خاست
بین که چون مرگ کاه و عمر فزاست

آن که از محض دوستی خیزد
کس چه داند که تا چه انگیزد

English translation

From the house of Pharaoh there was an unworthy person, A babbling, deformed-faced jester. He would take the appearance of the interlocutor of God (Moses), At times and other times, with staff and cap. Before Pharaoh's people, out of unworthiness, He would mockingly represent Moses. He would set his head to imitate him, Whatever he saw him do, he did the same. When Gabriel struck the lamentation of drowning, Ripping the garment of the Egyptians' lives in the Nile, That jester did not perish by drowning. Moses poured dust on his head in grief, Saying: 'O Beneficent Lord! From this evil-doer, I have suffered more torment than from all others. How is he worthy of this grace, That everyone has died and he remains alive?' God said: 'O Chosen One, for a time He made himself resemble you. Whoever takes the form of Our chosen one Is not deserving of the punishment of opponents. That imitation which arose out of enmity, See how it reduces death and increases life! That imitation which arises out of pure love, Who knows what it might bring forth!'
