Section 69 - The Second Sage Offering Condolences

Original content

English translation

When that God-knowing elder fell silent, that other one laid the foundation of a speech, saying: O lady of this six-sided abode, no one brings forth a lady the like of you. If Alexander turned his skirt away from your hand, may his Lord be for you a successor to him. The God-knowing one gives consolation to the one who has been ungrateful toward God. If a speck of dust of affliction should pass over him, it tears the collar of ease at the hem of his enjoyment. If the sting of a thorn should pierce his foot, the hand of his heart tears loose from the branch of contentment. But the fortunate one who found divine success found the confection of realization from the table of acceptance. Though fate struck upon him the dagger of dread, he spoke only of forbearance and submission; he drew no sigh at the arrow of destiny, nor chose any path but the path of submission. What need of instruction have the knowers, those who bring others to the frontier of knowledge? By this faith and knowledge that God has given you, open your tongue to the thanksgiving of God.
