English translation

A certain person approached a learned scholar And said: 'O you who are complete in the sciences of religion, Reveal a mystery concerning Ali, the saint, For I have found you to be a close friend of Ali.'

The scholar said: 'O you whose devotion to me is weak, Of which Ali do you wish to speak? The Ali of whom you are the supporter and helper, Or the one of whom I am the servant and debtor?'

He replied: 'Though I know but a little, In both worlds, I know Ali as only one. Explain this point fully to me: Which one is that, and which one is this? Tell me.'

He said: 'The one who is your chosen one, Is nothing but a newly drawn image of yours. You have created a figure in your imagination, And attributed various states to him.

A champion twisting his mustache, Scheming in deception for the sake of vengeance. ... ... A slave to his own ego like you and me, Devoid of religion and creed like you and me.

Who tore down the gate of Khaybar by his own strength, Lifting it onto his shoulders and throwing it far away. His heart was eager for the Caliphate, But Abu Bakr stood in the way.

After Abu Bakr, he desired it once again, But it was established upon Umar. When Umar departed from this vortex, The Caliphate became the portion of another companion.

In the struggle and quest for this desired goal, Everyone else prevailed, and he was vanquished. With such ignorance, illusions, and assumptions, You call him 'The Victorious Lion of God'!

This Ali, in the estimation of the great and small, Has never existed, and it is better if he never does. But that Ali to whom I am a servant with my soul, Has uprooted the mustache of the sinister ego.

With a pure heart, against the ranks of the deviants, He drew up battle lines against the enemies of faith. Out of the ultimate limit of his chivalry, He was empty of his own power and strength.

God's power and action manifested through him, Tearing down the gate of Khaybar while self-extinguished. Indeed, what is Khaybar? Even the vault of heaven Was humble and weak before that hand and grasp.

He saw the Caliphate as full of afflictions, And did not desire affliction without necessity. Whatever leaves a speck of dust upon the heart, Is, in the eyes of a true man, the ruin of man.

What is this dust? It is that which from the manifestation of existence, Darkens the purity of spiritual witnessing. As long as there was someone safe from deviation Who could successfully handle that task,

He was cooperative and obedient to them, And did not open the door of war and opposition. But when they all hid their faces behind the veil, And vanished like particles before the sun,

There was no one else among the elite or the commoners Who could rise up to undertake that task. Inevitably, for the victory of the Sharia, He took charge of that sacred trust.

He was the secret of the Muhammadan perfection, And became the seal of the prophetic Caliphate. The Prophet was the Seal of the Messengers, and after him, Ali became the seal of his Caliphate.

A group of people refused to pledge allegiance to him, And in that rebellion, they committed a grave error. Rebelling against the command of the perfect ones Arises from the head of deficiency and misfortune.

In the world, against a king and leader like Ali, If anyone rebels, what a deceitful rogue they are! This Ali is perfect in character and conduct, ... There is no likeness to him in any meaning or direction.

He turns toward his own imaginary concept, Because his imaginary concept is fitting for him. He has carved an Ali for himself, And scratched his heart with love for him.'
