گشت پرباد مفسدی را بوق
برد نفسش نفیر بر عیوق

شد پی میل خویش مکحله جوی
کرد صحرا و دشت در تک و پوی

اشتری یافت ناگهان ماده
بهر مقصود خویش آماده

خواست با او شود به زودی جفت
اشتر از کار سرکشید و نخفت

چون میسر نشد تمنایش
بست چوبی به عرض بر پایش

پا بر آنجا نهاد و پیش خزید
مرده ریگش به آنچه خواست رسید

بود در کار خود بدان تلبیس
شد مصور به پیش او ابلیس

گفت ای بد سیر چه کار است این
مایه صد هزار عار است این

هر که می بیند از شریف و وضیع
از تو این صورت رکیک و شنیع

پیش ازان کاندر آن زند طعنت
بر من از جهل می کند لعنت

به خدا تا من از عناد و جحود
ز آدم و آدمی شدم مردود

هرگز این حیله در دلم نخلید
وین قباحت به خاطرم نرسید

خود زنی در چنین مکاید گام
من به تلقین آن شوم بدنام

English translation

A mischief-maker's horn became full of wind, His carnal soul raised its cry to Capella. In pursuit of his lust, he went searching for a vessel, Scouring the desert and the plain in his search. Suddenly, he found a female camel, Ready to serve his intent. He wished to couple with her quickly, But the camel resisted and would not lie down. Since his desire was not realized, He tied a stick horizontally across her leg. He placed his foot upon it and crawled forward, And his wretched tool reached what he desired. While he was engaged in this deception, Satan appeared in visible form before him. He said, 'O evil-natured one, what is this deed? This is a source of a hundred thousand shames! Everyone who sees this, whether noble or base, This obscene and hideous sight of yours— Before they cast their taunts at you, Out of ignorance, they curse me! By God, since through stubbornness and denial, I was cast out because of Adam and mankind, Never did this trick enter my heart, Nor did such a vile deed cross my mind. You yourself step into such deceits, Yet I become infamous for instigating them!'
